Atlantic Metropolis Centre
A Centre for Excellence for Research on Immigration, Integration and Cultural Diversity
The Metropolis Centre in Atlantic Canada is a consortium of academic researchers,
government representatives, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to pursuing
policy-relevant research related to immigration, population migrations, and cultural
diversity. It pursues research agendas distinctive to the Atlantic region, as well
as research programs addressing the national policy priorities of
The Metropolis Project. The AMC is networked
with four other Canadian Metropolis Centres of Excellence in
Montreal,
Toronto, the
Prairies,
and
Vancouver, as well
as with the
international
arm of the Metropolis Project, involving
partnerships
with researchers, policy makers and community organizations in over 20 countries.

- AMC CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2009
The AMC is issuing the 2009 Call for Proposals (CFP) for its various Grant
Competitions.
This year the AMC is calling for proposals in the following three categories:
Special Strategic Grants - Maximum Value: $50,000
Strategic Grants - Maximum Value: $20,000
Pilot Grants - Maximum Value: $5000
The AMC is also issuing Call for Proposals (CFP) for Knowledge Mobilization
Grants.
We expect to provide funding of $2,000 to $5,000 for 8-10 projects that focus upon
knowledge transfer.
There are multiple deadlines for this funding.
- METROPOLIS PROJECT CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The research grant will have a maximum value of $10,000.
The final product must be delivered by March 31, 2010.
Researchers affiliated with Canadian post-secondary institutions are invited to
submit a proposal by October 15, 2009. Successful applicants must be associated
with one of the five Metropolis centres of excellence.

Annual Metropolis National Research Competition
The Metropolis Project is pleased to announce its third annual national research
competition.
This year, the research question is: From the point of view of governments and of
newcomers and minorities, are government-NGO partnerships the most effective model
for delivering services for integration and inclusion in Canada?
